Galesburg Police on Saturday afternoon (April 9th) responded to the East Main Street Circle K for a report of an accident involving a vehicle and a pedestrian. Upon arrival, police made contact with 32-year-old Drew Swanson of Galesburg who confirmed with police he was hit by a vehicle. Swanson told police he was sitting in a truck with his ex: a 45-year-old Galesburg woman, in the Save-A-Lot parking lot. He said the two got into an argument so he got out of the truck, grabbed his bicycle from the back, and rode over to the Circle K parking lot then onto Lincoln Street. The female followed him in the truck and then struck him. Swanson told police he then grabbed the female by the hair and pulled her from the vehicle. The female wasn’t located. Officers discovered Swanson had a valid Warren County warrant and he was placed under arrest. Police were also informed that Swanson, a felon, discarded a hunting knife in the Circle K bathroom trash can. Swanson was also charged with being a felon in possession of a weapon. The female subject is facing charges of Domestic Battery, Reckless Driving, and Failure to Render Aid.
