Rosalee B. Sproston, 91 of Aledo, passed away Friday, April 22, 2022, at Genesis Medical Center in Aledo.

Services are at 11:00 a.m. Monday, April 25, 2022, at the First Baptist Church in Aledo.  Burial is in the Hamlet Cemetery.  Visitation is 9:00 a.m. until the time of services at the church where memorials may be made to the American Diabetes Association.  Fippinger Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements and online condolences can be made at www.fippingerfuneralhome.com.

She was born December 19, 1930, in Moline, Illinois to Everett and Wilma Peterson Baldwin.  Rosalee graduated from Reynolds High School in 1948 and Moline Lutheran School of Nursing in 1951.  She married Raymond E. Sproston on December 13, 1952, in Aledo.  He died May 1, 1999.

Rosalee was employed as a nurse at the Mercer County Hospital.  She then assisted her husband on the family farm while raising her three sons.  Rosalee was later employed at the Mercer County Nursing Home, retiring in 1995.

She was a member of the First Baptist Church in Aledo and a former member of the Alpha Baptist Church.  Rosalee was an organist and accompanied her husband’s singing at church weddings and funerals.

She enjoyed trips with family and friends and especially loved to watch game shows.

Survivors include two sons, Tom (Sue) Sproston of Aledo, IL; Mark (Marti) Sproston of Cambridge, IL; 7 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren with one lovingly expected; one sister, Jane Krahl of Moline, IL; several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Raymond; one son, Jim; one sister, JoAn; one granddaughter-in-law, Amanique; two great-grandchildren.
