Galesburg High School girls basketball coach Evan Massey is on the Illinois Basketball Coaches Association’s list of most impactful people in Illinois women’s basketball.

The list recognizes those that have played a major role in the game in the state over the past 50 years.

This comes as both Title IX and the IBCA celebrate 50 years.

The list of people impactful to the women’s game is also being revealed week by week alongside a similar list of those who impacted the men’s game.

Massey has coached the Streaks girls for 43 seasons and averaged 22 wins per year.

He’s coached the team to regional wins 24 times, 10 sectional titles, seven Elite Eights, and 5 Final Fours.

He’s also nearing being only the sixth coach in state history with 1,000 wins, currently holding 966.
