Gladstone man facing felonies after fighting Henderson County Sheriff’s Deputies

A Gladstone man was taken into custody on Wednesday, July 13th, after Henderson County Sheriff’s Deputies responded to a trespassing and assault complaint. According to a release by the Henderson County Sheriff’s Department, deputies responded to the suspect’s residence and met with 30-year-old Ryan M. Smith. When deputies went to place Smith under arrest, he began resisting officers and began fighting deputies. Details were not released, but one deputy sustained injuries during the arrest. Smith was taken to the Henderson County Jail where he continued to fight with jail staff. Smith was charged with Class 4 Felony Resisting Arrest, Class 2 Felony Aggravated Battery to a Peace Officer, and Criminal Trespassing. He’s currently being held in the Henderson County Jail on no bond.
