Jack K. Stephens, 91, of Monmouth IL went to be with his Savior, Jesus Christ at 3:20 pm, Monday, July 11, 2022, in Monmouth.

Jack was born May 30, 1931, in Joplin, MO the son of Lyman Kenneth and Lola Margaret (Perry) Stephens.  He was raised and educated in Normal, IL, graduating from Normal High School in 1949.  He later graduated with a Bachelor of Music Education Degree from Illinois Wesleyan University in 1957 and later his Master of Music Degree in 1961.  In 1979 Jack graduated from Carl Sandburg College with an Associate Degree in Electronics and became a Certified Biomedical Technician in 1981.

Jack married Joy Ruth Fairchild in Heyworth, IL on August 10, 1961, and she passed away on July 12, 2022.

Jack was a band director for Downs-Ellsworth School from 1957-1960 and Patoka School from 1960-1964.  He was a math teacher at Monmouth Junior High School from 1964-1970.  Jack worked for Eagle Foods from 1970-1972 as a warehouse semi-driver, and at Knox College 1972-1975 in the maintenance department. Most recently, Galesburg Cottage Hospital from 1975-2002, starting in the maintenance department and later established the Bio-Medical Department.

He was a member of Immanuel Baptist Church in Monmouth.  He enjoyed spending time with his family and friends, listening to music, physical fitness, reading, and serving his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.

Survivors include his 2 sons, Keith (Karen) Stephens of Mascoutah, IL, and Douglas (Andrea) Stephens of Roanoke, VA; 8 granddaughters, Amber (William) Flanagan, Lindi Roberts, Brie (Craig) Rainey, Karis Stephens, Abigail (Jaelon) Albert, Marguerite Stephens, Madelynn Stephens; 7 great-grandchildren, Ashleigh Flanagan, Conor Flanagan, Karson Roberts, Aaliyah Rainey, Josiah Rainey, Marley Albert & Roman Albert; several niece and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents and brother, James R. Stephens.

Funeral services will be 11:00 am Saturday, July 16, 2022, at Immanuel Baptist Church, Monmouth, IL.  Interment will be at Warren County Memorial Park.  Visitation will be from 4:00-7:00 pm, Friday, July 15, 2022, at McGuire & Davies Funeral Home and Crematory, Monmouth, IL.
