The OSF hospital in Monmouth will be offering advanced wound care for people living with chronic, non-healing wounds this week.
OSF HealthCare Holy Family Medical Center has partnered witH Healogics, the nation’s leading provider of advanced, chronic wound care services to open the OSF Wound Care on Wednesday, July 20th.
The 23-bed critical access hospital in the Maple City will offer an evidence-based, systematic approach to advanced wound care for people suffering from diabetic ulcers, pressure ulcers, infections, and more.
Lisa DeKezel, president of OSF HealthCare Holy Family and St. Mary medical centers, says that the hospital chain is bringing advanced wound care and innovative solutions to the community.
“We are pleased to take part in the advancement of wound care by bringing this innovative solution to our community,” said DeKezel. “We recognize the need for access to local treatment options. Our resources continue to expand with advanced technology, highly trained providers and a valuable partnership with Healogics.”
These applications on Healogics’ WoundSuiteSM platform, enable the critical connection between people living with chronic wounds and their multi-disciplinary healthcare team for collaborative, evidence-based, patient-centered care.
It is estimated that chronic wounds affect 6.7 million people around the nation and that number is on the rise, fueled by an aging population but also increased rates of diabetes, obesity, and late effects of radiation therapy.
OSF Wound Care will be located on the north side of the campus, near the Rehabilitation Department, on Monday, Wednesday, and Thursday. Call (309) 734-1408 for more information.
