A 46-year-old Galesburg woman declined medical treatment after an argument led to her 35-year-old former boyfriend throwing a weed eater that struck her in the head. Galesburg Police responded to the 400 block of West Second Street for a report of battery in progress. The female victim told police she was at her ex’s camper to collect her belongings. The suspect and the victim were arguing, and the man refused to let her collect her things. The male began throwing items – one of which being the lawn trimmer that struck the female in the side of the head. The victim had a bump on her head and complained of soreness in her head and neck. Officers located the male on the west end of the 4th Street Bridge. The male denied hitting the woman. Officers informed the man he was under arrest and a small glass pipe with suspected white methamphetamine residue on the inside. He was placed under arrest and transported to the Knox County Jail charged with Domestic Battery and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia.
