Play some music trivia or take the dog on a car ride during your weekend.
The Knox County Humane Society’s Third Annual Doggie Car Ride is Saturday. The ride will be Halloween-themed, and dog owners are encouraged to dress up and dress their pups too.
Participants will drive around the Humane Society’s building and park area. Dog owners and their pets will receive a t-shirt, pupuccino, a goodie bag, and a photo taken by Rick Cross Photos. The first one hundred entries will get a $5 Casey’s gas card. The entry fee is $20.
Your weekend could also include a name that tune and artists trivia night to benefit the Galesburg Great Balloon Race. Grab your friends and swing by the Knights of Columbus Hall where the doors open at 5:30 and trivia starts at 7:00.
There will also be a 50/50 drawing, a free-will offering of baked goods and popcorn, and food available for purchase from the Knights of Columbus. $10 gets you playing trivia from J & J Entertainment with a maximum of 10 players per team.
If you don’t feel like cooking this weekend, stop by the OAKS Senior Center in Galesburg between 11:00 and 1:30 for their Chili or Potato Soup Luncheon. The menu includes your choice of soup with a slice of pie and a drink. Cary-outs are available. Cost is by free will donation.
You can also grab dinner from the Williamsfield United Methodist Church. Their annual Turkey Supper will be drive-thru only with all the fixings, including pie. The cost will be $14 from 4:00 until 6:30.
