Night Time Police Violent Crime Intervention. Police Vehicles with Flashing Lights.
A Galesburg man and woman were arrested for attempting to steal from Walmart using a reoccurring scam tactic on Friday. Galesburg Police responded to the store around 9:30 pm on Friday and viewed a security video of a woman scanning the price tag of less-expensive items at the self-checkout. Meanwhile, a man in the video is bagging up merchandise before the woman even attempts to scan it. The 31-year-old man and the 37-year-old woman were both stopped by Asset Protection Employees as they tried to depart the store. The total retail value of all the items in their cart was just over $351. Both subjects were transported to the Knox County Jail and charged with Retail Theft over $300.
