Leslie D. Goff, 87 of Woodhull, IL passed away, Monday, November 7, 2022, at St. Mary’s Medical Center in Galesburg.

Services are 10:30 a.m. Friday at the United Church of Woodhull. Burial is in the Woodhull Cemetery. Visitation is  4-7 p.m. Thursday at Peterson Wallin Knox Funeral Home in Woodhull where memorials may be left for United Church of Woodhull, Clover Township Fire Department, or Tri-County Ambulance.  Online condolences can be made at www.petersonwallinknox.com.

He was born February 4, 1935, in Galva, IL to David and  Marita Milroy Goff. He graduated from  ROVA  High School in 1953.  Leslie married Maxine Coleman on July 1, 1956, in Victoria, IL.

He was a U.S. Army veteran, having served from 1954-1956.

Leslie farmed and raised livestock in the Victoria and Woodhull areas, retiring in 1997.  Every Tuesday, he attended the Galesburg Livestock Auction barn.

He was an avid softball player and coach for many years.  He was a member of the Illinois Officials Association and umpired in the Quad Cities and Galesburg area.  Leslie was an avid Cubs fan.

Les was a member of the United Church of Woodhull where he served in many different capacities and was known to the kids as the “gum man”  He was a former trustee of the Clover Township Fire Department and was a member of the board of trustees for Tri-County Ambulance.  Les was a member of the Oneida American Legion Post.

He enjoyed his horses, fishing, and being with his grandchildren.

Survivors include three sons, Larry (Karen) Goff; Chuck (Sally) Goff, all of Woodhull, IL; Doug (Sharon) Goff of Hopedale, IL; six grandchildren, Christopher (Sawyer) Goff, Cari (Jason) Main, Austin, Mandy, Cole, and Carson Goff; seven great-grandchildren; one sister, Marion (Carroll) Graves of Altona, IL; one brother, Fred Goff of Bushnell, IL; several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents and one sister, Virginia, and her husband, Wayne Sutter.
