GALESBURG, Illinois – The Prairie Fire Men’s Basketball Team had a tough showing against the Cornell College Rams in their 72-47 loss. It was hard to keep up with the Rams’ perimeter shooting and at times it really seemed like Cornell could not miss. The Rams shot 48.5% from long-range.

Isaiah Lockett led the Fire in scoring with 11 going 3-for-3 from behind the arc. Jordan Rayner and Matthew Garife both added nine points apiece. Sean Gallery was the next highest scorer with seven.

“We played close for most of the first half, but Cornell came out hot in the second half to pull away,” said head coach Ben Davis. “We need to play more consistently across the entire game. We show glimpses of what we could be, but need to put it all together.”

The Fire travel to Beloit College on January 14 to battle the Buccaneers.
