
The Knox County 708 Mental Health Board is accepting applications for funding for its 2023 grant cycle.
Grant application forms are available on the Knox County Board’s website with a filing deadline of Tuesday, February 28.
The Knox County Mental Health Board was authorized by a countywide ballot referendum in the April 2017 election.
It was established to meet the funding needs of persons or programs that provide treatments for local people affected by mental health, intellectual or developmental disabilities, and substance abuse issues.
The funding cycle runs from July 1, 2023, to June 30, 2024. All money is banked and invested by the Knox County Treasurer. All disbursements are made through the Treasurer’s office with review by the County Board.
Local funds based upon a property tax levy in Knox County are available to Knox County organizations/agencies/residents, including for-profit corporations.
Up to $1,600,000 in tax funds will be awarded to provide funding for local mental health, substance abuse, and developmental disabilities services.
