
Galesburg Police have issued an arrest warrant for a man in connection with the Monday shooting incident on Blaine Avenue.
31-year-old John S. Thurman is facing charges of attempted murder and aggravated discharge of a firearm.
Thurman could be facing more charges pending review by the Knox County State’s Attorney’s Office.
Galesburg Police responded at 5 a.m. Monday to 108 Blaine Ave. in reference to a subject laying in the yard screaming. Upon arrival, officers located a male subject laying in the yard screaming that he had been shot.
Galesburg officers in cooperation with the Knox County State’s Attorney’s office conducted an investigation into the shooting incident, and a search warrant was executed at the Blaine Residence to gather evidence.
The investigation lead to an arrest warrant being issued for Thurman.
The 18-year-old victim is still being treated at the hospital for a gunshot wound to the abdomen.
