A Galesburg fast food restaurant is getting a makeover — or at least a face lift. Wendy’s on North Henderson Street is undergoing its first exterior remodel in more than 40 years.
Local Wendy’s General Manager Rhonda Fones tells WGIL, “It’s just time to update the outside. It’ll give us a more up to date look. The last remodel of the outside was 41 years ago when it was built, so I think it’s time.”
Fones, who has been with Wendy’s for 40 years, said among the changes to the outside will be new lighting, stone pillars and a new facade. She expects the outside work to be done in a week to 10 days.
“I get a lot of phone calls, asking if we’re still open and I say yes we are,” Fones said.
Wendy’s did an interior makeover of the Galesburg store during COVID and Fones said once the exterior work is done next week, new furniture and some other cosmetic changes will be done to the inside of the restaurant.
