For six years, Johanna Maska made the White House her office. A 2000 graduate of Galesburg High School, Maska worked with President Barack Obama for more than eight years, serving as Director of Press Advance in the White House and playing a critical role on two successful presidential campaigns. She knew almost everything President Obama would be doing on a daily basis, often before he did.

Today, Johanna lives in California and is a world-class marketing expert and currently CEO of Global Situation Room. Her busy schedule also finds her traveling the country to appear as a guest expert on a variety of political issues on such channels as Fox News and NewsNation.

NewsNation announced Maska will join the network as a regular news contributor.

Jay Redfern had a chance to catch up with Johanna via a phone interview for Galesburg Live.
