You’ll soon be able to get produce and pizza at the same location.
Nayborhood Farm, located at 1412 Barefoot Road northeast of Knoxville, touts its new business as a one-stop shop for all things fun, fresh, and festive! They will specialize in fresh produce grown on a 95-acre farm. You can also sit at their outdoor pavilion and enjoy a wood-fire pizza made from their home-grown ingredients.
The growing of a wide variety of vegetables is already underway.
“Essentially, it’s a subscription to the farm,” said Dusty Sanor, farm operations director at Nayborhood Farm.
Customers can prepay for a box of produce of their choice and size through a CSA (community supported agriculture). Once Nayborhood Farm starts producing in the springtime, every two weeks subscribers will get a box of vegetables — whatever is in season.
“There’s always new varieties of things that I enjoy trying to grow,” Sanor said. “We’ll be focusing on more unique varieties of tomatoes — crazy heirloom tomatoes that are like purple and different shapes and sizes.”
Produce also will be available at a food stand at the farm.
Nayborhood Farm plans to have a pumpkin patch in the fall.
