A 40-year-old Galesburg man, who was already incarcerated at the Knox County Jail, is also now facing a Retail Theft Charge. The incident occurred last Friday. Galesburg Police responded to Hi-Lo on South Seminary Street for a report of theft. A 40-year-old Galesburg man entered the store and attempted to steal two bottles of tequila, three Butch’s frozen pizzas, and some other items. Store employees chased the man from the store and he dropped and broke both bottles of tequila in the process. Police viewed security video of the incident and identified the man. The man was already being held at the Knox County Jail on charges of Resisting a Peace Officer and Possession of Stolen Property. He was additionally charged with Retail Theft. The same man was arrested back in December on charges of Criminal Trespassing after Knox County Sheriff’s Deputies responded to a home he and another man were attempting to burglarize in East Galesburg.
