
Thursday night, Galesburg Police responded to the 100 block of North Broad Street for an intoxicated man who had passed out at a bar. GHAS paramedics were already on the scene and informed police the man was being aggressive toward them. The heavily intoxicated 76-year-old man could not give police coherent answers when questioned. Despite police offering the man a ride numerous times, the man insisted on walking home. A short time later, police were called back to North Broad because the man had returned and he was sitting inside a pickup truck with the keys in the ignition. The man performed a portion of a field sobriety test and then declined to continue. The man was then placed under arrest. The man had a BAC of .153. He was charged with DUI A1 and DUI A2 and then transported to the Knox County Jail.
