
Amos Lloyd Sward, a proud veteran of the United States Army, passed away Monday, March 13, 2023, in Cumberland City, TN at the age of 43.
He was born October 18, 1979, in Galesburg, IL, the son of David Sward and Loretta Boughton Honeycutt.
Amos proudly served 20 years in the United States Army. He enlisted in 1999. Before retirement in 2019, he was promoted to Sergeant Major with The Asymmetric Warfare Group (AWG) and assigned to the 101st Airborne Division (Air Assault) at Ft. Campbell, KY.
Amos was a beloved father, son, brother, uncle, and cousin who will be greatly missed.
Amos is survived by his children, Amos Lloyd Sward Jr. and Kyler Kaiden Sward both of Knoxville, IL. and Alexia Grace Sward of Cumberland City, TN; father, David Sward, step-mother Carla Krohn, mother, Loretta Boughton Honeycutt (Randy), brother, Arlie Sward (Amy); sisters, Angie Sward, Amber Sward (Jeremiah), and Stephanie Fleming, and lifelong friend, Michael Newell.
The funeral service with military honors was held at 1:00 pm on Saturday, March 25, 2023, at Anglin Funeral Home. Visitation was from 11:00 am until 1:00 pm on Saturday. Memorial contributions may be made to VA Homeless Programs – Veterans Affairs
For those who were not able to attend the services in Tennessee are welcome to join the family at the Celebration of Life on April 8, 2023, at WL Darrow Lodge 838 W. Berrien St. Galesburg, IL. 61401 at 2:00 pm.
**Both the visitation and Celebration of Life will be informal. It was Amos’s wish to have family, friends, and brothers share a memory or story.**
