Miss Ashley D. Maxwell, 37, of Galesburg, Illinois passed away at 2:33 p.m. April 1, 2023, at the University of Iowa Hospital, Iowa City, Iowa.
She was born August 13, 1985, in Galesburg to Ruby Maxwell and Glen Pulley.
Surviving are her parents, Ruby (Jeffery Morrisson)Maxwell of Ohio and Glen Pulley of Galesburg, her daughter, Amarea D. Reed, her fiancé, Cody Teel of Galesburg, her sisters, Michelle Davis, Raven Davidson, Jeaniece Davidson, and Jammie Davidson, her great aunts, Lula Nicholson, Joanne Nicholson, and Jewelean Sims, her nieces, Nevaeh Orozco, and Amareana Davis, and her nephews, Elijah, and Noah Davis. She was preceded in death by her grandma Loylee Davidson, an aunt Dessie Rhodes, a great aunt, Audrey May Works, and her great uncles, Fred Craig, Otis Nicholson, Ted Nicholson, Jr., and Sterling Nicholson.
Ashley was born and raised in Galesburg and graduated from Galesburg High School in 2003. Shortly after she had given birth to her daughter Amarea, she had fallen ill. Ashley devoted the rest of her time to her family and seeking treatment while being a pillar of joy and light for those around her. She loved anything musical, singing, and dancing in her free time with her closest friends and family.
Visitation will be 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. Friday, April 14, 2023, at Hinchliff-Pearson-West Funeral Directors and Cremation Service Galesburg Chapel. Graveside services will follow the visitation at 1:00 p.m. Friday, April 14, 2023, at East Linwood Cemetery, Galesburg. Memorials may to the family.
