Galesburg Police responded to Farm King for a report of a burglary on Friday. Numerous guns were stolen out of a glass gun case. Police viewed a security video from 9:50 pm that showed two unknown male subjects enter the store through a loading entry door. The two allegedly pried the door open with a crowbar. One of the males went to the gun case, while the other male attempted to open a cash register near the automotive department. That male then went and smashed the glass gun case and the two men took a total of five handguns. The total value of all five guns is nearly $2,800. Both men had their faces covered, but one of the males had a noticeable limp. A Dewalt tool cage was tampered with and a cash register was broken. According to police reports, any additional merchandise stolen wasn’t reported by Farm King – however, GPD did not observe the two men steal anything else while viewing the security video. Illinois State Police responded and processed the scene. The incident remains under investigation.
