Galesburg Police late morning on Wednesday, responded to the 100 block of Indiana Avenue for reports of two juveniles being unattended in the roadway. A man told police a little girl and a little boy were both found in the roadway and called police. Officers learned where the children lived and made contact with their 34-year-old mother. Officers reported the mother did not seem upset or concerned that her children were unattended in the roadway. Both children, ages 3 and 4, had soiled diapers. It was then discovered the woman had a valid Knox County warrant. Since the woman was unable to find a babysitter for her children, she was given a citation for the warrant. Police informed the woman the Department of Children and Family Services would be contacted. She was additionally charged with two counts of Endangering the Life or Health of a Child.
