Julie C. Cantarini, age 47, of Galesburg, Illinois, died on Monday, May 1, 2023, at OSF St. Mary Medical Center.
She was born February 21, 1976, in Galesburg, Illinois, the daughter of Mike and Val (Spencer) Davidson. She was married to Marshall Cantarini and they had two wonderful sons, Jacob Lee (Mackenzie) Cantarini of Abingdon and Lucas Vann Cantarini of East Galesburg.
Surviving her are her parents, Val (John) Schubert of East Galesburg and Mike (Sue) Davidson of Galesburg, her sons, her grandson Jhett Cantarini of Abingdon, as well as her half brothers and sisters, Brad (Morine) Goff of Gilson, Illinois, Jeff (Tracie) Goff of Olive Branch, Mississippi, Hilary (Chris McCrea) Davidson of Knoxville, Illinois, and Natalie (Jakob Hopkins) Davidson of Galesburg, Illinois. Also surviving is a special friend, Jeremy Pople of Galesburg. Julie is preceded in death by her grandparents.
Julie is remembered as having an infectious personality and being fun to be around. She had a quick wit and a tender heart. She held several jobs throughout her life and up until her time of death, she helped care for a senior. Her boys have special memories of their mother spending time with them and their friends. Simple acts of her love included funny stories and coloring together. Julie also had a remarkable talent for remembering special dates and events such as birthdays and anniversaries and would reach out to send personal greetings whether by calling or sending a card.
Private graveside services will be held by the family at a later date. Memorials may be made to the charity of the donor’s choice and sent in the care of Hurd-Hendricks Funeral Homes & Crematory.
