Knox County Fair back this week with concerts, races, carnivals and livestock

The Knox County Fair returns this week with a slate of activities and events.

The oldest continuous-running county fair gets things started at the Knox County Fairgrounds with the Harness Races Monday night at the Grandstand at 5 p.m.

The Grandstand has something every night including the Diamond Ag Stock Car races on Tuesday, Jim Smith Memorial Tractor and Truck Pulls Wednesday, and the concert

Thursday featuring Scotty McCreery, Sawyer Brown and Josiah Siska.

The carnival by Boden Amusements will run every night Tuesday to Saturday from 5:30 p.m. to 10 p.m., with an extra session from 1 to 4 p.m. Saturday.

Fair Board President Ted Inness says that Boden Amusements has done the carnival the past few years and are bringing some new rides this year.

Most rides take a $3 ticket, but special deals and armbands are available.

Just a few other things that will be on the grounds this week include antique tractor displays, Full Moon Farms Petting Zoo, entertainment each day in the Family Pavilion and Beer Garden bands throughout the week.
