No injuries reported in Olive Street structure fire

No injuries were reported in a fire that was ruled unintentional by Galesburg Fire Investigators Tuesday.

According to a news release, 11 personnel from all three stations responded to 484 Olive Street at 6:43 a.m. Smoke was showing from the west side of the residence when fire crews arrived.

Battalion Chief Donald Brackett established command and Fremont Street Station crews made entry with an attack line. Once inside, personnel located and extinguished the fire. The fire was contained in the basement.

All occupants were able to evacuate the residence upon discovery of the fire.

The fire caused moderate smoke damage to the basement and the first floor. Preliminary damage estimates are at $5,000.
