It was announced yesterday that Knox County State’s Attorney Jeremy Karlin will seek re-election in 2024.
Elected in 2020, Karlin describes his time as State’s Attorney as “the greatest privilege of his life.”
According to a campaign announcement, Karlin says with nearly 30 years of criminal law experience he brings a wealth of knowledge to his role as the leader of the State’s Attorney’s Office.
He says he has prosecuted violent criminals and secured significant convictions.
Karlin has also spearheaded a court diversion program for certain non-violent offenders.
Karlin has also said he’s worked diligently to increase accessibility and transparency within the office, maintaining an open-door policy and holding monthly office hours to address questions and concerns.
Karlin also highlights his intention to strengthen collaboration with various county stakeholders, including police, schools, churches, businesses, and others, to enhance crime prevention efforts.
Karlin resides in Galesburg with his wife and three children.
