The current Knox County Circuit Clerk Mary Ostrander has announced her intention to run for the office in 2024.
Ostrander was appointed to the position following longtime Circuit Clerk Kelly Cheesman’s retirement in September of 2022.
Ostrander has worked in the Circuit Clerk’s office for 38 years, the past 22 years as its Chief Deputy.
Former Circuit Clerk Cheesman endorses Ostrander’s candidacy saying, “Mary has all the necessary skills and experience to execute the duties of this position.”
Providing accurate court records and disbursing money collected through the Circuit Clerk’s office are two of the job’s major statutory duties according to Ostrander.
Along with focusing on these Ostrander says another top priority will be providing “efficient, accurate, and friendly customer service.”
Ostrander is the first candidate to announce plans to run for Knox County Circuit Clerk in 2024.
