Fulton County Sheriff’s Deputies responded to a report of a man with a gun in Lewistown Thursday afternoon.
Just after 12:30 p.m., deputies arrived and evacuated the County Market grocery store.
According to a press release, deputies engaged the armed subject in conversation with the use of cover and a ballistic shield.
By approximately 1:04 p.m. the man surrendered to police and was taken into custody without incident.
The subject is being transported to Methodist Hospital in Peoria for further evaluation but isn’t facing criminal charges at this time.
