Ann M. Enstrom, 87, of Alpha, passed away Monday, Nov. 20, 2023, at Seminary Manor, Galesburg.
Funeral service will be at 10:30 a.m. on Monday, Nov. 27, 2023, at Alpha United Methodist Church. Visitation will be held from 4 to 6 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 26, 2023, at Peterson-Wallin-Knox Funeral Home, Alpha. Burial will be at New Windsor (Petrie) Cemetery. Ann was born on June 20, 1936, in Rock Island, the daughter of Dale and Marion (Brown) Sholl. She married Marvin Enstrom on July 3, 1954. Ann was a homemaker and also served as organist at her church for several years. She was an avid quilter and enjoyed giving away baby quilts. Ann and Marvin loved traveling the United States after Marvin’s retirement. They visited more than 50 zoos in their travels. Ann was an avid Chicago Cubs fan.
Ann is survived by her husband, Marvin Enstrom, Galesburg; daughter, Debbie (Dayle) Learned, East Galesburg; daughter-in-law, Lynn (Daniel) Skalla; grandchildren, Ryan (Anne) Learned, Gardener, Kansas, Dayle (Joyce) Learned Jr., North Henderson, Rachel (Ken) Gellerstedt, Neenah, Wisconsin, and Julia (Grant) Williams, Rock Island; great grandchildren, Ben, Amelia, Christie, Jude, Zoe, and Teddy; sister, Joyce Sholl, Moline; brother, Bob (Vicki) Sholl, Kansas City, Missouri; sister-in-law, Jan Sholl, Rock Island; and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins. She was preceded in death by her parents; son, Keith Enstrom in 2006; daughter, Rebecca Enstrom in 2020; brothers, Fred, Ralph, and Paul Sholl; and the “best cat ever” Callie in October 2023.
The family would like to thank the staff at Seminary Manor, OSF Hospice and Hawthorn Inn for their kindness and compassion. Ann and Marvin’s family is also grateful for the help given by their neighbors and church family over the past few years.
