Galesburg has a new city manager coming to town and the public is invited to meet him.
Eric Hanson was hired as Galesburg’s next city manager by a unanimous City Council vote in October and his first day on the job is Monday.
The City is hosting a welcome reception on Wednesday, Dec. 20 from 5 to 7 p.m. for members of the community to meet the new head of city administration.
The reception at City Hall is for any community partners, business community members, or citizens to attend.
Hanson was selected to fill the top leadership role after a nationwide recruitment campaign, led by GovHR.
Most recently he’s worked as assistant city manager in Normal, Illinois but also has been city manager in Ballwin, Missouri; Indianola, Iowa; and Monmouth.
