A WGIL listener/reader recently asked: Is the Gift of Lights at Lincoln Park being held this year?
The Gift of Lights at Lincoln Park won’t be happening this year capping a 6-year run of glowing Christmas displays and raising funds for local charities.
The event’s organizer Mona Magness says she and her family decided the Holiday drive-thru had run its course.
Magness tells WGIL she does hope that another organization or group will be inspired to do something similar in the future.
Meanwhile, she encourages residents to check out the Roseville Christmas Gift of Lights on Fridays and Saturdays at the Warren County Fairgrounds.
Magness’ father loaned some of his displays to the Christmas Gift of Lights.
The Magnesses started the Gift of Lights in 2017 when they moved back to Galesburg and wanted to do something to brighten the Holiday spirit and give back.
