Dixon, Destiny

Destiny Elizabeth Dixon, 23, of Galesburg, Illinois, died Monday, January 1, 2024, as a result of injuries sustained after being struck by a passing vehicle while assisting a previous auto accident.

Destiny was born July 13, 2000, in Galesburg, the daughter of Marnesha Lynn Flowers. Destiny had recently been attending Carl Sandburg College.

Destiny is survived by her mother, Marnesha of Galesburg; her two beloved daughters, Harlem and Brooklyn Flowers both of Galesburg; a brother, Diele Jones of Galesburg; and two sisters, Da’Kiyah Flowers and Danaijah Banks both of Galesburg.  She is also survived by a grandmother, Barbara Kelley of Galesburg; a grandfather, Jesse Brown of Aurora, Illinois; and a great grandfather, Charles Morrow of Galesburg. Destiny was preceded in death by her great grandmother, Dorothy Morrow; great grandfather, James Kelley; and a cousin, Jalissa Flowers.

Destiny cared deeply for others and was never shy about expressing her love. She loved to cook and go shopping and attended Allen Chapel AME in Galesburg.  Always wearing a smile, she loved to make people laugh and would light up any room she entered.

Visitation will be 10 a.m. to noon. Friday, January 12, 2024, at Watson Thomas Funeral Home and Crematory, Galesburg with funeral services at noon. Rev. Tyson Parks, III will officiate.
