Oglesby asks Illinois Supreme Court to rule on murder charges

The Illinois Supreme Court will rule this month on whether they’ll review whether murder charges against Marci Oglesby will stand or not.

Oglesby is accused of murder and concealing the dead body of former Maquon Chief of Police Richard Young.

Olgesby’s attorneys filed a petition for leave to appeal following the reinstatement of murder charges by Illinois’ 4th District Appellate Court.

She has requested the Illinois Supreme Court review the Appellate Court’s decision.

The Appellate Court was ruling on an appeal from the Knox County State’s Attorney after Circuit Judge Andrew Doyle ruled that murder charges weren’t filed in a timely fashion.

Oglesby’s was initially charged with concealment of a death, filed days after Young’s body was found by Knox County deputies.
