GPD investigating break-in to North Seminary Street residence

Around 3:00 on Monday afternoon, Galesburg Police responded to a report of a residential burglary in the 500 block of North Seminary Street. Police met with a 38-year-old man who said someone had broken into his residence and stole several items. The man said the break-in occurred sometime the night before or that morning. Police observed the front door and window frame of the house to be damaged. It appeared as though someone threw something at the door and then was able to reach in and unlock the deadbolt. Missing from the residence was an estimated $6,800 worth of items. Taken from the home were speakers, computers, a Playstation 5, a television, and several pieces of jewelry. Officers questioned neighbors who did not see anyone at the residence at the time of the break-in. The investigation is ongoing and police were in the process of obtaining area security footage at the time of the police report.
