Tuesday: Make It Macrame
Make It Macrame with the City of Galesburg Parks and Recreation from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 30 at the Lake Storey Pavillion. Our January project will be a narrow wall hanging featuring a fun vine design. Never done macrame before? We will cover the basics with staff on hand to help show you the ropes (pun intended). All materials provided, cost is $15 per person by January 23. Suggested minimum ages for macramé classes are 8+ years old but all ages welcome! Wednesday: Young Adventurers: Dungeons & Dragons for Beginners
Meet at the library for a kid-friendly introduction to the world of Dungeons & Dragons! On Wednesday, Jan. 31 at 6 p.m,, at the Galesburg Public Library, we’ll cover the basics of tabletop role playing games and then play through a self-contained adventure. Thursday: Space Cat Painting
What’s better than painting your cat? Painting your cat in space, of course! Join us at Art Defined from 6-8 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 1 to paint your fuzzy friend in space! Cost is $35 per person, and let us know the colors of your cat in the comments of your order. The link to purchase tickets is here!
Saturday: Trivia Night: Are you Smarter than a 6th Grader?
Come find out if you are smarter than a 6th grader with school subject trivia to test your knowledge of your school days! Saturday, Feb. 3 from 6-9 p.m., at the Knights of Columbus Hall, 1556 E. Fremont St., Galesburg. Cost is $100/table (up to 10 people), with doors opening at 5pm. Food and drink will be available for purchase, but feel free to bring snacks for your table! Contact the Mt. Saturday: Disco Dance Night at Lake Storey Pavilion
Galesburg Parks & Recreation, with the help of Young Dance Inc., are hosting a Social Disco Dance Night at the Lake Storey Pavilion on Saturday, Feb. 3! We will have a beginner Hustle lesson and kids are welcome to attend. FREE Snacks and Beverages will be provided at the Dance. Lesson and DJ Music will be provided by Young Dance Inc. Roam through your closet and grab your 70’s gear and join us on the dance floor! Dance to the hits of the 70’s, and receive prizes for the Best costumes!
Cost is $5 per person – Kids 12 and under get in Free. Doors open at 6:30pm, 7pm is the Hustle Lesson, and 7:30 to 10 p.m. is the Social Dance!
