Galesburg Police just before 5:00 pm on Tuesday responded to Hy Vee Gas on Henderson Street for a report of two female subjects battering a cook at the gas station. Police observed a shattered monitor screen and items were thrown about the store. The 18-year-old female victim initially did not wish to speak with police but was advised to do so by her employer. The woman said two women came inside the store and “jumped” her. The victim said she had been having issues with the two for some time. Four other employees witnessed the altercation. A computer screen for lottery tickets valued at $3,000 was damaged during the incident.
Police viewed security footage of the two women arriving in a red vehicle, entering the store, walking right up to the female victim, and begin punching her, and then kicking her as she went to the ground. The two then throw items at her. One of the subjects takes a beverage out of a cooler before departing. The two women have been identified by police. The two were added to the GPD’s pending arrest list and face charges of Aggravated Battery in a Public Place, Mob Action, and Criminal Damage to Property.
