Video gambling terminals netted nearly $12.5 million in revenue in 2023 in Galesburg alone.

There are 185 machines in Galesburg at 34 different establishments with the average establishment pulling in around $366,000 before taxes according to data from the Illinois Gaming Board.
In Illinois, the State gets a 29 percent cut of the Net Terminal Income, while municipalities like Galesburg get only 5 percent.
That equates to about $624,000 for the City in 2023.
The amount being played and the amount made by terminal owners has increased every year over the last decade, except for 2020 when machines were only in operation for 7 months.
