Police searching for suspect after vehicle shot on Henderson and Losey

Galesburg Police are searching for suspects after a seemingly random shooting at the corner of West Losey and North Henderson Streets Monday night.

A man driving a Chevy Traverse told police he was waiting at the intersection’s stoplight and after turning south onto Henderson St. his vehicle was struck with two bullets.

The man drove on to Linwood Road where he met with Galesburg officers.

This all took place shortly before 11 p.m. Monday.

Police on scene observed the Chevy to have a broken out rear passenger side window, a damaged window frame, a bullet hole in the side of the front passenger seat and two flat front tires.

The man said he didn’t see any pedestrians or vehicles before the shooting and has no idea who could have wanted to harm him.

Police were not able to find anything of evidence at the scene of the shooting.

They are still in the process of investigating including looking at security footage from nearby businesses.
