Hennenfent, Julie

Julie Ann Hennenfent of Galesburg passed away at her home April 20, 2024. She was born August 26, 1970 in Peoria, Illinois. Her parents were Michael L. And Judith A. (Palmer) Hennenfent.

Julie is survived by three sons; Nicholas M. Hennenfent; Benjamin W. Norville, and Ryan D. Hennenfent, her partner Justin Stokes, mother, brothers Bill (Becky) Hennenfent of Gilson, and Matt Hennenfent of Dahinda and three nephews, Blake (Hailey) Hennenfent of Gilson, Case (Shelby) Hennenfent of Knoxville and Dane Hennenfent of Gilson. Julie was proceeded in death by an infant daughter, her father (2020) and sister-in-law Marcy Hennenfent (2019).

Julie began her love for animals caring for orphaned kittens, bucket calves, farm dogs, and horses while growing up on the farm. She was active in 4-H, FFA, and the band at Knoxville High School before graduating in 1988.

Julie worked many different jobs that suited her great skill of sewing. She made items like Carhartt jackets and repurposing material into teddy bears and other keep sakes. Julie also enjoyed showing her skills as an artist through her paintings. Besides the love for her dogs, she would spend much of her time in the garden growing vegetables and flowers. She had a kind and giving nature and will be missed by all.

Funeral service will be held at 1 p.m. Monday, April 29, 2024, at the Hurd-Hendricks Funeral Home and Crematory Knoxville, Illinois, with Dan Hennenfent officiating. There will be no visitation. Memorials to Knox County Humane Society. Interment will be in the Knoxville Cemetery, Knoxville, Illinois.
