A Kewanee man is dead after riding his bicycle and colliding with a vehicle.
31-year-old Tyler Bliss was traveling south on U.S. Highway 34 south of Kewanee, when a 2005 Dodge Magnum going the same direction struck him.
Henry County Deputies arrived on scene and immediately began life saving measures on Bliss.
Bliss was transported by Kewanee Fire Department for life-threatening injuries to OSF-Saint Luke’s Hospital located in Kewanee where he was later pronounced dead.
The driver of the vehicle, 20-year-old Darren Chamberlain of Kewanee, received a citation for unlawful overtaking of a bicycle.
The crash remains under investigation by the Henry County Sheriff’s Office Traffic Crash Reconstruction Unit.
