Crick, Rose Mary

Rose Mary Crick, 82, of Galesburg, Illinois, died peacefully at home surrounded by family on Tuesday, May 7, 2024.

Rose was born November 22, 1941 in Rineyville, Kentucky, the daughter of Emil G. and Anna F. (Alvey) Brangers, Jr.  She graduated from Rineyville High School and later moved to Galesburg, Illinois.  Rose worked at the Galesburg Post Office for over 25 years, retiring as a third shift supervisor in 2004.

Rose is survived by one daughter, Susie (Floyd) Gray of Knoxville, Illinois; one son, Tony (Robin) Hutson of Westmont, Illinois;  four grandchildren, Kassie (Cory) Konzen, Kaitlyn Karssen, Kaleb (Emily) Karssen, and Sondra (Tony) Flores; two great grandchildren, Michael Konzen and Harper Flores; and her longtime significant other, Jim McGee of Galesburg.  Rose is also survived by five brothers, Robert Brangers of Elizabethtown, Kentucky, Carl Brangers of Lakeland, Florida, Dale (Anna) Brangers, Gary (Libby) Brangers, and Darrell (Jo) Brangers all of Elizabethtown, Kentucky.  Rose was preceded in death by her parents; one infant brother; one infant sister; and two brothers, Larry and Bill.

Rose was a devout and faithful member of Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church, leading the rosary for many years.  She loved to be outside tending to her yard and flowers.  Rose was an avid walker, whether it be outdoors or at home on her treadmill.  She enjoyed baking and sharing with family and friends.

Visitation will be 10 to 11 a.m. Monday, May 13, 2024 at Immaculate Heart of Mary Church.  The rosary will be prayed at 11 a.m. with mass following at 11:30 a.m.  Father Lee Brokaw will officiate.  Burial will be at St. Joseph Cemetery, Galesburg.  Arrangements have been entrusted to Watson Thomas Funeral Home and Crematory, Galesburg.  Memorial Contributions may be directed to the St. Vincent DePaul Society or to Immaculate Heart of Mary Church.  Online expressions of sympathy may be sent to the family at www.watsonthomas.com.
