Another trade of sorts between the biggest school district in Knox County, and school districts in Warren County.
The Galesburg School Board Monday night voted to approve hiring Jeff Ewing as the new principal at Galesburg Junior-Senior High School in the next school year.
Ewing replaces Tom Hawkins, who is becoming the Superintendent of the United School District.
District 205 says Ewing has been a principal in the Monmouth-Roseville School District, most recently at the high school, and at Harding Primary before that. He worked in the Sherrard School District before going to Monmouth-Roseville.
“I believe that building relationships with students is the essential element in fostering a positive learning environment,” said Ewing, in a district statement. “My vision for Galesburg Jr./Sr. High School is to ensure it’s a safe environment where students want to succeed.” “I want everyone to be proud to be a Silver Streak.”
Ewing is set to make over $139,106.04 a year, and will start July 9. CLICK HERE for the rest of the district’s employment moves at their May meeting.
