Angelo Patrick James “Pickle” Mangieri, 23, of Wataga, Illinois, died at 10 p.m. Sunday, May 19, 2024, at OSF St. Francis Medical Center, Peoria.
Angelo was born November 3, 2000, in Galesburg, Illinois the son of Felicia E. (Hunt) and Paul L Mangieri.
Angelo is survived by his parents of Galesburg; the love of his life, his fiancé, Lakee J. Nache, and their three sons, Francesco, Angelo, and Rosario. He is also survived by eight sisters, Regina (George Gutierrez, II) Mangieri of Austin, Texas, Amy (Jeff) Flis of Washington, D.C., Jessica Fredrickson of Lake Zurich, Illinois, Rudeana Fredrickson of Galesburg, Dorothy (Jason Evans) Mangieri of Galesburg, Allison (Pete Smidt) Mangieri of Morton, Illinois, Rachael Mangieri of Galesburg, Jolinda (Devyn Ross) Mangieri of Galesburg; three brothers, Joseph (Angelica) Mangieri of Galesburg, Michael (Miranda) Mangieri of Holland, Michigan, and Paul L. “Nunzio” (Emily) Mangieri of Galesburg; and his long time best friends Zach Williams and Heath Milan. Angelo was preceded in death by his maternal and paternal grandparents, and his uncle, Angelo.
Angelo worked at Galesburg Castings until their closure and was currently working at the Knox County Landfill. A Mr. Fix it, Pickle could repair or fix anything. He will be long remembered as a character who never met a stranger, would help anyone in need, and loved to tell a good story (some were even true). Angelo loved to work out, had a great heart and truly loved being a father. His presence and smile will be greatly missed.
Cremation will be accorded. Visitation will be 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday, May 25, 2024, at Watson Thomas Funeral Home and Crematory. Memorial services will follow at 1 p.m. His father, Paul Mangieri will officiate. Memorial contributions may be made to the Angelo Mangieri memorial account at F&M Bank.
