Monday: Duke Otherwise Family Concert

Kick off our Summer Reading Program with a free concert by Madison-based family musician Duke Otherwise. Join us in the Community Room at the Galesburg Public Library at 6 p.m. Monday, June 3! Duke is a singer, guitarist, and tap dancer whose live shows are filled with improvisation, audience participation, and outrageous fun for kids of all ages.

 

Friday: First Fridays on Seminary Street

An opportunity to get outside, relax, breathe deeply, visit with your friends and enjoy the sights, sounds and smells of Historic Seminary Street as you browse the shops for the latest must-haves, listen to the live, local music and either visit one of our restaurants or sample their offerings on the street.

First Fridays will be held on the following dates from 5 to 8 p.m.:

  • June 7
  • July 5
  • August 2
  • September 6

We will have live, local music, the merchants will be rolling out the red carpet with fun new products and fun activities, free children’s enrichment activities, adult beverage sampling (adult beverages require a valid photo ID!) and many of the Seminary Street restaurants will be out on the street selling food to make you happy and beverages to make you happier! Bring a lawn chair as seating is limited!

Saturday: Second Saturdays: Wet-N-Wild: Aquatic Animals

Free event, open to all ages at the Lakeside Nature Center! There’s more than just fish living in the water! Come learn about the many plants and animals that live in an aquatic habitat. Take a hike to the lake and look for animals that make the water their home. Create your own bullfrog noisemaker! Stop by between 9:30-11 a.m. Saturday, June 8.

 

Saturday: The Tangents at Hidden Hills Vineyard & Winery 

The Tangents are an acoustic duo from Springfield known for their eclectic style and crowd interaction. The couple has performed all over including Nashville, Florida and Mississippi. With Casey Cantrall on guitar and vocals and Tiffany Riech-Cantrall on vocals, the pair enjoy playing country, rock, pop, blues and more. Come see this live performance at Hidden Hills Vineyard and Winery from 1 to 4 p.m. Saturday, June 8!

 

Saturday: Ales & Lagers & Beers – Oh My!

Join Prairie Players for an afternoon of fun! There will be beer tasting, games, a silent auction, and music. Not to mention food! From 1 to 4 p.m. Saturday, June 8, experience music by Old Dogs, New Tricks, and food by Tacos & Thai and Smokin Willies BBQ food trucks. Tickets are $35 in advance, and $45 at the door.
