An accident Monday evening west of Abingdon has resulted in a death.
The Knox County Sheriffs Department says the accident was first reported at 5:40 p.m. Monday, at the intersection of Knox Highway 23 and Knox Road 50 East.
Deputies say an 85-year-old male from Galesburg was travelling east on Highway 23 when his black 2024 Subaru left the south side of the road. The man was pronounced dead.
The name of the victim is not being released until next of kin is notified. An investigation into the crash continues.
