Mr. Kevin Dwight Spivey, 67, of Woodhull, Illinois, passed away unexpectedly Saturday, June 8, 2024, in Galena, Illinois.
Kevin was born November 9, 1956, in Monmouth, Illinois, the son of Richard and Shirley (Loveridge) Spivey. He married Janice Van Unnik on August 4, 1990, in Galesburg, Illinois.
Kevin is survived by his wife of thirty-three years, Janice Spivey of Woodhull; his daughter, Denise (Kurt) Barman of Alpha, Illinois; his step-daughter, Crystal Casteel of Fairview Heights, Illinois; his step-son, Andrew Baker of Galesburg; his grandchildren, Marissa (James) Medford, Cody and Chase Casteel, and Kyle and Grace Barman; his brothers, Allen (Linda) Spivey of Winters, Texas and Blaine (Sharon) Spivey of Galesburg and several nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his parents, Richard and Shirley Spivey.
Kevin graduated from AlWood High School in 1975. He worked for Alpha FS, Inc. for 36 years and was currently working for Corteva in Woodhull. Kevin was an avid Chicago Bears fan. He enjoyed golfing and bowling and loved attending all of his grandchildren’s events.
A Celebration of Kevin’s Life will be held from 1-4 p.m. Saturday, June 22, 2024, at the Oxford American Legion in Alpha, Illinois. Cremation will be accorded. Memorials may be given to donor’s choice of charity. Hinchliff-Pearson-West Funeral Directors and Cremation Services Galesburg Chapel is assisting his family with arrangements.
