Roger Baughman passed peacefully at home in his sleep at 11:45 p.m. June 16, 2024, after a short illness.
Roger was born in Galesburg, Illinois on March 25, 1951, to Roger and Caroline (Vancil) Baughman, joining his seven older siblings.
After graduating from Knoxville High School in 1969, Roger soon started to work for the railroad where he “met” and fell in love with the State of Colorado. He soon welcomed a daughter, Rhiannon, who preceded him in death in 2014. In the next few years a son, Justin Lowell and daughter Erin Ann became part of his family. In 1997 he met (Elizabeth) Betty Jean Boone and they blended their lives together, marrying June 11, 2007 on Pikes Peak in Colorado. Surviving with his wife are his children and stepsons: Justin (Elizabeth) Baughman of Buffalo Grove, Illinois, Erin (William) Lansing of Lindenhurst, Illinois, Christopher (Teri) Boone of Bettendorf, Iowa, and Danny (Shellie) Boone of Knoxville, Illinois; with seven grandchildren and two great grandchildren.
Along with his daughter Rhiannon, Roger is also preceded in death by his parents, brothers, Richard, Robert, and Dennis, and sisters, Betty Stromgren, Myrna Godsil, Carol Joann Temple, and Phylis Crockett.
Cremation will be accorded, and per Roger’s wishes there are no services planned. Arrangements have been entrusted to Watson Thomas Funeral Home and Crematory, Galesburg.
