A fatal motorcycle accident took place Wednesday night in downtown Galesburg.
Galesburg Police responded to the Cherry and Simmons Streets intersection at 7:19 p.m. for a report of a motorcycle accident.
They believe that two motorcycles were riding south on Cherry Street when they became entangled causing the victim to crash.
The victim was identified Thursday afternoon as Nathaniel Hawk, 31, Monmouth.
Responders located Hawk on the pavement in the intersection, and medical personnel provided aid. He was transported to OSF St. Mary Medical Center’s ER by ambulance but the person died as a result of their injuries at the hospital.
The accident remains under investigation, according to Galesburg Police.
