Knox County Court records indicate a judge Monday approved of a prosecution request, under the state’s Pretrial Fairness Act, to keep Chase Houlden, Jr., 19, in custody until his case is resolved.

Houlden faces a charge of First Degree Murder, and two counts of Aggravated Discharge of a Firearm, after the June 7th shooting death of Cam’ron Glass, 18.  Glass was found dead inside a home on South Street when police arrived, while Houlden had been taken to a Galesburg hospital, later to Peoria.  He was released last week and taken to the Knox County Jail.

While a judge has been given a copy of the police report from that day, police have not publicly stated what caused the shooting, except to say their investigation is ongoing.

Meanwhile, Holden has been appointed a public defender, and a preliminary hearing has been scheduled for July 22nd.
