The growing number of pickleball players in Knox County has led the city of Knoxville to host the first pickleball tournament in the area this summer.
The tournament, Pickled At The Park, gets underway at 9 a.m. on Saturday, July 27 at James Knox Park. Johnathan Reed, Knoxville City Council 4th Ward alderman, helped bring the courts to the James Knox Park back in 2023. Johnathan, along with Morgan Seabloom will run the event in July.
“This is a great opportunity for Knoxville to advertise our new facilities and create fun family friendly entertainment,” said Knoxville Mayor Toby Myers. “I look forward to seeing everyone out having fun and making memories in Knoxville.”
While the tournament will be for ages 16 and up, there will be food and activities for kids as well during the day.
Registration for the event is open, and information can be found on their Facebook page Pickled At The Park. Sign-ups also are available at Knoxville City Hall.
